Overview

Vineatrol is a standardized botanical extract derived from wine grape shoots (*Vitis vinifera*). It is characterized by a high concentration of stilbenoids, primarily trans-resveratrol and its dimer epsilon-viniferin, along with other polyphenols that may act synergistically. In preclinical studies, Vineatrol has demonstrated significant antiproliferative activity against human colon cancer cells by inducing cell cycle arrest in the early S phase. This effect is mediated through the nuclear redistribution of cyclin A and the subsequent activation of the cyclin A/cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) complex. Additionally, Vineatrol has shown potential as a chemosensitizer, markedly enhancing the inhibitory effects of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) on cancer cell proliferation. It is primarily marketed as a nutraceutical ingredient for its antioxidant and potential health-promoting properties.
