Vinorelbine + mitomycin C is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of two cytotoxic agents used primarily in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and has also been studied in other solid tumors. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly, thereby disrupting mitosis and leading to cell death. Mitomycin C is an antitumor antibiotic that acts as an alkylating agent, cross-linking DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis. This combination has demonstrated moderate to significant activity as a second-line or later therapy for metastatic breast cancer resistant to anthracyclines, with manageable toxicity profiles—primarily hematological toxicities such as neutropenia. The regimen has also been explored in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) when combined with other agents[1][3][5].
