Overview
Prosemble's vinorelbine nanoparticle formulation is a preclinical-stage nanoparticle-based delivery system for the small molecule chemotherapy drug vinorelbine. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that exerts its antineoplastic effect by binding to tubulin and inhibiting microtubule polymerization, which leads to mitotic arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. The nanoparticle reformulation is designed to enhance the delivery of vinorelbine to tumor tissues while potentially reducing systemic toxicities and improving the overall safety and tolerability profile. Prosemble is developing this formulation for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and metastatic breast cancer.
