**VIP-131I-ASON** is an experimental, tumor-targeted therapeutic radiopharmaceutical consisting of a 15-mer phosphorothioate antisense oligonucleotide complementary to the translation-start region of **MYC mRNA**, radioiodinated with iodine-131 and conjugated through polylysine to vasoactive intestinal peptide. The VIP-polylysine carrier was designed to promote uptake by VIP receptor-positive tumor cells, while the antisense oligonucleotide suppresses MYC expression and the iodine-131 label contributes localized radiation-mediated cytotoxicity. In athymic mice bearing HT29 human colon adenocarcinoma xenografts, the construct increased tumor uptake relative to unconjugated radioiodinated antisense oligonucleotide and produced tumor-growth delay.
