Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIPER-102 is an investigational CAR T-cell therapy developed by Vittoria Biotherapeutics. It utilizes CD5 knockout CAR T-cells engineered to target a novel, universal solid tumor antigen that is over-expressed in malignant cells and compartmentalized in healthy tissue. This design aims to address the off-tumor, on-target toxicity challenges seen with conventional antigenic targets for solid tumors. The therapy is being explored for the treatment of multiple types of solid tumors and B cell malignancies, with potential applications in certain autoimmune diseases such as lupus. As of early 2024, VIPER-102 was in IND-enabling studies and had not yet entered clinical trials[1][2].
