It is designed to target the SARS-CoV-2 genome for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. VIR-2703 has shown significant potency in reducing viral replication in vitro, with an EC50 of less than 100 picomolar and an EC95 of less than 1 nanomolar[1][3][5].
