Vir Biotechnology HIV monoclonal antibodies

Vir Biotechnology, through its subsidiary Humabs BioMed, is developing a portfolio of preclinical monoclonal antibody candidates aimed at achieving a functional cure for HIV. Developed in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, these antibodies target undisclosed HIV-1 viral antigens. The candidates are discovered using Humabs' proprietary CellClone technology, which enables the isolation of rare, fully human antibodies from the memory B cells of convalescent patients. This program focuses on identifying potent neutralizing antibodies that can potentially eliminate viral reservoirs or provide long-term viral suppression as part of HIV cure-focused research.
