Viralym-B

Viralym-B is an investigational T-lymphocyte cell therapy composed of BK virus (BKV)-specific T cells. It is designed to provide immunologic cytotoxicity and replace deficient or dysfunctional T lymphocytes in patients with BKV infections, particularly following allogeneic stem cell transplantation. The therapy involves the infusion of donor-derived, HLA-matched BKV-specific T lymphocytes to target and eliminate BKV-infected cells through immune-mediated mechanisms. Viralym-B was initially developed by Viracyte and later advanced by AlloVir for the treatment of polyomavirus infections such as BK virus infection post-transplant[1][2]. Its development status has been discontinued at the preclinical stage[1].
