Overview

Viralym-C is an investigational allogeneic T-cell therapy developed by AlloVir. It consists of cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific T lymphocytes derived from healthy donors, which are banked for off-the-shelf use. The therapy is designed to treat CMV infections in patients who have undergone allogeneic stem cell transplants, a population at high risk for life-threatening viral infections due to a weakened immune system. Viralym-C aims to restore CMV-specific immunity to combat active infections, particularly those affecting organs like the lungs, gut, liver, and eyes. It is currently undergoing clinical investigation and is not approved by the FDA.
