Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Virtuos Lyograft is a shelf-stable cellular bone allograft developed by Orthofix Medical Inc. in partnership with MTF Biologics for use in spinal and orthopedic procedures. It is designed as a complete autograft substitute, providing the three essential components for bone healing: an osteoconductive scaffold, osteoinductive growth factors, and osteogenic cells (including mesenchymal stem cells and osteoprogenitor cells). The product utilizes a proprietary lyophilization (freeze-drying) process that allows for room-temperature storage while preserving the viability of the allogeneic cells. Upon hydration, the graft becomes a moldable material that can be easily implanted during surgery to promote bone fusion and repair.
