Overview

VIS171 is a modified interleukin-2 (IL-2) molecule designed to specifically activate and amplify regulatory T lymphocyte (Treg) populations. Its mechanism centers on selective stimulation of the IL-2 receptor, with the goal of expanding Treg cells to modulate immune responses in autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. The drug is being developed for subcutaneous administration and is currently undergoing phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics in both healthy volunteers and patients with autoimmune diseases. Preclinical studies have shown robust expansion of Tregs with VIS171[1][4][6].
