Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIS564 is a therapeutic candidate being developed by Visterra for the treatment of complement-mediated diseases. It is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and inhibit the C5a receptor 1 (C5aR1), a key component of the complement system's inflammatory cascade. By blocking the interaction between the anaphylatoxin C5a and its receptor C5aR1, VIS564 aims to suppress the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells, thereby reducing tissue damage in various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development and was engineered using Visterra's proprietary Hierotope platform.
