Visine A.C. is an over-the-counter ophthalmic solution developed and marketed by Kenvue. It is a combination product containing two active ingredients: tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride, a small molecule alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, and zinc sulfate, an astringent. Tetrahydrozoline acts as a vasoconstrictor by constricting the superficial blood vessels in the conjunctiva, thereby temporarily reducing eye redness. Zinc sulfate functions as an astringent to help relieve irritation and clear mucus from the outer surface of the eye.
