Overview

VISTA agonist is a small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by Protheragen for the treatment of psoriasis. VISTA (V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation), also known as VSIR, is an immune checkpoint protein primarily expressed on myeloid cells and T cells that acts as a negative regulator of T cell responses. By agonizing the VISTA pathway, the drug aims to suppress overactive immune signaling and reduce the inflammatory symptoms associated with psoriasis. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development and represents a novel approach to treating autoimmune conditions by enhancing natural inhibitory immune checkpoints to dampen the inflammatory response.
