Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VISTA-targeted CAR T-cells are chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies engineered to target V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation (VISTA), an immune checkpoint regulator highly expressed on myeloid tumor cells and upregulated in certain malignancies such as malignant mesothelioma and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). By targeting VISTA, these CAR T-cells aim to overcome VISTA-mediated immunosuppression and selectively eliminate VISTA-expressing tumor cells. Preclinical studies, including those conducted at the University of Minnesota, have demonstrated the potential efficacy of VISTA-targeted CAR T-cells in inducing cytotoxicity against malignant mesothelioma and AML cell lines.
