Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VISUgican is a sterile ophthalmic solution developed by VISUfarma (acquired by Lupin) for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and the protection of the ocular surface. The formulation is a combination of sodium hyaluronate, Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone), and Vitamin E TPGS (tocofersolan). Sodium hyaluronate acts as a lubricant and humectant, stabilizing the tear film and providing long-lasting hydration to the corneal surface. Coenzyme Q10 serves as a potent antioxidant, protecting ocular tissues from oxidative stress and promoting the healing of corneal micro-lesions. Vitamin E TPGS acts as a surfactant and antioxidant that enhances the solubility and bioavailability of Coenzyme Q10. VISUgican is particularly indicated for patients with moderate to severe dry eye, corneal sensitivity, or those recovering from ophthalmic surgeries such as LASIK or cataract extraction.
