Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VisuXL is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution indicated for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and the promotion of ocular surface recovery. It is a combination product containing cross-linked sodium hyaluronate (XL-HA), coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), and Vitamin E TPGS (tocophersolan). The cross-linked hyaluronic acid provides enhanced mucomimetic and viscoelastic properties compared to standard linear hyaluronic acid, resulting in a longer residence time on the ocular surface and improved lubrication. Coenzyme Q10 serves as a potent antioxidant, protecting corneal cells from oxidative damage and supporting mitochondrial function to aid in corneal wound healing and nerve regeneration. Vitamin E TPGS acts as a surfactant and additional antioxidant that facilitates the delivery of CoQ10. VisuXL is particularly used for moderate to severe dry eye, post-surgical recovery, and ocular surface alterations related to systemic conditions like diabetes.
