Overview

Vitalliver is a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) formulation developed as a suppository for the treatment of chronic liver diseases, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and decompensated cirrhosis. Administered rectally, the medication is absorbed into the systemic circulation and delivered to the liver via the portal vein, bypassing initial first-pass metabolism in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Vitalliver acts as an immunomodulator, enhancing the activities of T-cells, B-cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. Clinical research indicates that Vitalliver can regulate the synthesis and release of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and promote the metabolism of homocysteine, both of which are often impaired in patients with chronic hepatic injury. By improving these metabolic pathways and immune responses, the drug aims to stabilize liver function and manage complications associated with cirrhosis.
