This is a combination therapy used primarily for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who experience infertility due to anovulation. The combination includes: 1. Vitamin D - Typically administered as vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) at doses around 10,000 IU twice weekly 2. Calcium - Usually given at doses of approximately 1250 mg twice daily 3. Clomiphene citrate - An oral ovulation stimulant that acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), typically administered at 50-150 mg daily for 5 days starting from the third day of the menstrual cycle This combination therapy aims to improve ovulation rates and pregnancy outcomes in women with PCOS, particularly those who are resistant to clomiphene citrate alone. Vitamin D supplementation may help normalize menstrual cycles and improve follicular maturation through oocyte activation and maturation. The combination has shown significant improvement in ovulation rates in some studies, though effects on pregnancy rates have been variable.
