Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vitamine C UPSA is an over-the-counter (OTC) nutraceutical and medicinal supplement developed by the French pharmaceutical company UPSA. The product contains ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) or sodium ascorbate, typically in 500 mg or 1000 mg doses. Vitamin C is an essential water-soluble vitamin that serves as a potent antioxidant and a critical cofactor for various enzymatic reactions, including collagen synthesis, carnitine production, and catecholamine synthesis. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of vitamin C deficiency and as an adjunctive treatment for temporary fatigue (functional asthenia), support of normal energy metabolism, and maintenance of the immune system. It is available in multiple oral dosage forms, such as effervescent tablets, chewable tablets, and flavored sachets.
