Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vitano is a brand name for a traditional herbal medicinal product containing an extract from *Rhodiola rosea* L. rhizome and root (specifically the WS® 1375 extract). It is traditionally used for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with stress, such as fatigue, exhaustion, and mild anxiety. The active ingredient, *Rhodiola rosea* extract, has also been investigated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, comparison trial for its potential as a beneficial treatment option for mild to moderate major depressive disorder (MDD). It is considered an adaptogen, helping the body adapt to stress, and may offer a more favorable risk-to-benefit ratio compared to conventional antidepressants due to fewer side effects.
