Viticell

Viticell is a CE-marked medical device and cell therapy kit developed by IBSA Pharma and licensed to Cutiss for the treatment of non-evolving vitiligo and hypochromatic post-traumatic scars, such as dyspigmented burn scars. The device enables a personalized, autologous cellular grafting procedure in an outpatient setting. During the process, a clinician harvests a small sample of the patient's healthy pigmented skin and uses the Viticell kit to isolate and prepare a suspension of epidermal cells, including melanocytes and keratinocytes. This autologous cell solution is then transplanted onto the prepared depigmented lesion to restore skin pigmentation. As a cell-based transplantation therapy, Viticell does not have a specific molecular target but works by physically repopulating the skin with functional pigment-producing cells.
