Overview
Entelon (vitis vinifera extract) is a botanical drug product developed by Hanlim Pharm, primarily composed of proanthocyanidins extracted from grape seeds. It is marketed in South Korea for the treatment of venous insufficiency and as an adjuvant therapy for breast cancer-related lymphadenoma. The drug is also being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, where it is compared against celecoxib. Mechanistically, the extract exerts anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α) and modulating the MEK/ERK signaling pathway, which are involved in the progression of inflammatory joint diseases and vascular disorders.
