vitis vinifera fraction 2 is an experimental **polyphenol-rich fraction** derived from seedless black *Vitis vinifera* pulp and skin and prepared as one of several fractions from a crude grape extract. In the cited preclinical hepatocellular carcinoma study, VVF2 showed anti-tumor activity in HepG2 and Huh7 liver cancer models and in a chemically induced mouse HCC model, with reported effects including induction of apoptosis, reduction of CD133 positive cancer stem cell populations, suppression of proliferation-related pathways, and improvement in liver histology and function. The active composition appears to be a mixture of grape phenolics rather than a single defined molecular entity, and proposed mechanisms from the publication include multi-target inhibition involving NADPH oxidase 2, histone deacetylase 1, and sepiapterin reductase based on docking analyses; however, it does not appear to be a clinically developed pharmaceutical product or a drug with a clearly defined commercial developer.
