Vitybelle

Vitybelle is a combined oral contraceptive (COC) containing the synthetic progestogen chlormadinone acetate and the synthetic estrogen ethinylestradiol. It is primarily indicated for the prevention of pregnancy and is also frequently prescribed for the treatment of moderate acne in women who require hormonal contraception. The mechanism of action involves the suppression of gonadotropin secretion from the pituitary gland, which inhibits ovulation, increases the viscosity of cervical mucus to impede sperm transport, and alters the endometrial lining to prevent implantation. Chlormadinone acetate is a derivative of progesterone that possesses significant anti-androgenic properties, allowing it to compete with endogenous androgens at the receptor level, thereby reducing sebum production and improving androgen-dependent skin conditions.
