Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VivaVision Biotech-PDE4 is an investigational small molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor being developed by VivaVision Biotech for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases. PDE4 is an enzyme that breaks down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), a key second messenger in inflammatory cells; its inhibition leads to increased intracellular cAMP levels, which in turn suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and promotes anti-inflammatory mediators. While VivaVision has several advanced ophthalmic assets in its pipeline (such as VVN-001 and VVN-461), this specific PDE4 program is currently in the early stages of discovery or preclinical development, targeting unmet needs in anterior or posterior segment eye diseases.
