Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vivomixx is a high-potency probiotic preparation containing the De Simone Formulation, a proprietary blend of eight specific strains of live bacteria: *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus plantarum*, *Lactobacillus paracasei*, *Lactobacillus delbrueckii* subsp. *bulgaricus*, *Bifidobacterium breve*, *Bifidobacterium longum*, *Bifidobacterium infantis*, and *Streptococcus thermophilus*. It is designed to colonize the gastrointestinal tract and restore microbial balance, thereby improving intestinal barrier function and modulating inflammatory responses. Vivomixx is primarily used as a medical food or dietary supplement for the dietary management of gastrointestinal disorders, including ulcerative colitis, pouchitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In clinical research, it is being evaluated for its potential to improve vitamin status and metabolic markers in patients with celiac disease who remain symptomatic or have nutrient deficiencies despite following a strict gluten-free diet.
