Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VIX001 is a proprietary biological product derived from purified amniotic fluid. It is being developed for the treatment of neurological and inflammatory conditions, with a primary focus on post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS) patients experiencing cognitive impairment and neurological symptoms. The drug has also been explored in case studies for wound healing in diabetic ulcers, severe back pain due to spondylitis, and pyoderma gangrenosum—demonstrating rapid reduction in pain and inflammation as well as accelerated tissue regeneration. Its mechanism of action is not fully elucidated but may involve extracellular vesicles present in amniotic fluid that mediate anti-inflammatory effects and promote tissue repair. VIX001 is administered intravenously or topically depending on the indication. The developer and active organization behind VIX001 is NEOBIOSIS.
