ViXe

ViXe is a drug-device combination product being developed by Vensica Medical in partnership with Merz Therapeutics for the treatment of urological conditions, specifically neurogenic bladder in its 300U dosage variant. The product combines Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA), a highly purified botulinum toxin type A biologic, with Vibe, a proprietary needle-free ultrasound-assisted drug delivery catheter. The Vibe device utilizes ultrasound technology to generate cavitation bubbles that facilitate the transurothelial delivery of the toxin directly into the bladder wall, enabling uniform and controlled localized treatment without the need for traditional needle injections. Once delivered, the incobotulinumtoxinA works by cleaving SNAP-25, which inhibits the release of acetylcholine from presynaptic nerve terminals, thereby reducing pathological bladder muscle overactivity.
