Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VLP Zika vaccine is a preclinical-stage virus-like particle (VLP)-based vaccine being developed by Saiba Biotech for the prevention of Zika virus infection. The vaccine utilizes VLP technology to display Zika virus antigens on its surface, mimicking the structure of the virus without containing viral genetic material, which ensures it is non-infectious. It is designed to induce both neutralizing antibody and cellular immune responses to provide protection against the Zika virus. The development of this vaccine is a collaborative effort involving Saiba Biotech and several prominent academic institutions, including the University of Zurich, University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, University of Dundee, CHUV, The Jenner Institute, and A*STAR Singapore.
