Overview

VMTE (virus-modified tumor cell extracts) is a cell-based immunotherapy derived from allogeneic ovarian cancer cell lines (OV2774 and CaOV3) that have been modified with the influenza virus A/PR8/34. Administered intraperitoneally, VMTE is designed to induce regional cellular immunity and enhance the oncolytic activity of effector cells against tumor cells in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. Its therapeutic effect can be further potentiated by co-administration with interleukin-2 (IL-2).
