VMX-C001 is an engineered recombinant human coagulation factor X (FX) that is designed to be insensitive to inhibition by Factor Xa direct oral anticoagulants (FXa-DOACs), such as apixaban, rivaroxaban, and edoxaban. Its mechanism of action involves bypassing the inhibitory effects of FXa-DOACs, thereby rapidly restoring normal blood coagulation in patients experiencing serious bleeding or requiring urgent surgery while on these anticoagulants.
