Overview

VN-1032 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate being developed by Vasculonics as a first-in-class disease-modifying therapy. It functions as a Selective Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor Modulator (SAhRM) that targets the Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR). The drug is intended for oral administration to treat Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). In preclinical models, VN-1032 has demonstrated the ability to inhibit pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell proliferation and reduce fibrosis in both kidney and cardiac tissues, as well as decrease lung vessel remodeling and inflammation. By selectively modulating AhR, the compound aims to impact mechanisms of inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis to alter disease progression.
