VNA-318 is an orally available, first-in-class small molecule developed by Vandria. It acts as a brain-penetrant mitophagy inducer, targeting novel pathways to rejuvenate cells and treat age-related diseases, particularly neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The drug has a dual mode of action—providing immediate improvements in memory, learning, and cognitive function while also delivering long-term disease-modifying effects like reduced neuroinflammation, decreased toxic protein aggregation, and enhanced mitochondrial function. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in models of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Toxicity studies indicate a wide safety window for the compound.
