VNX-101-2 is a preclinical AAV-delivered T-cell immuno-gene therapy being developed by Vironexis Biotherapeutics for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune disorders. The therapy utilizes the proprietary TransJoin™ platform, which leverages an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector to deliver a genetic payload encoding a T-cell engager. This "in vivo" approach transforms the patient's own cells into a factory for producing T-cell engagers, which then facilitate the T-cell-mediated depletion of pathogenic cells involved in autoimmune disease. By delivering the therapy via a single systemic injection, VNX-101-2 aims to circumvent the logistical and clinical challenges associated with traditional ex vivo CAR-T cell therapies, such as complex manufacturing and the requirement for lymphodepleting chemotherapy.
