Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VOL-TNF small molecule is an investigational, orally administered small molecule inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) being developed by Levolta Pharmaceuticals. Currently in the preclinical stage, this program is designed to offer a more convenient oral dosing regimen compared to existing injectable biologic TNF inhibitors. By inhibiting TNF, a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine, the drug candidate aims to treat a broad range of autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, and psoriatic arthritis. The program represents a shift toward small-molecule alternatives in a therapeutic space traditionally dominated by monoclonal antibodies and fusion proteins.
