Overview

This is a **combination regimen of four drugs**: - **Volociximab**: a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting integrin α5β1, investigated primarily as an anti-angiogenic for solid tumors. - **Carboplatin**: a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking, leading to apoptosis; widely used in ovarian, lung, and other cancers. - **Paclitaxel**: a microtubule-stabilizing agent that prevents cell division by inhibiting microtubule depolymerization; extensively used in a variety of solid tumors. - **Bevacizumab**: a recombinant humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody against vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), inhibiting angiogenesis; approved for use in multiple cancers (including non-squamous NSCLC, ovarian, cervical, colorectal, glioblastoma, and renal cell carcinoma) in various combinations, particularly with carboplatin and paclitaxel[1][2][3][4][5]. The rationale for this combination is enhanced anti-tumor activity through **multiple mechanisms**: anti-angiogenesis (volociximab and bevacizumab), cytotoxicity (carboplatin, paclitaxel), and microenvironment modulation.
