Overview

Volrustomig is a first-in-class, engineered bispecific human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets both programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA4). By binding to these immune checkpoint proteins on tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes, volrustomig inhibits the downregulation of T-cell activation and proliferation mediated by PD-1 and CTLA4. This dual blockade enhances anti-tumor immune responses. Volrustomig is internalized upon binding and can degrade PD-1. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of various solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer, mesothelioma, cervical cancer, head and neck cancers, among others. The drug is administered intravenously[1][3][5][9].
