Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vonoprazan + amoxicillin + bifidobacterium tetravaccae is an investigational combination regimen being evaluated in a Phase 4, open-label, randomized controlled trial (NCT07306988) for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection and associated metabolic syndrome. The regimen consists of vonoprazan (a potassium-competitive acid blocker), amoxicillin (a beta-lactam antibiotic), and Bifidobacterium tetravaccae (also referred to as Bifidobacterium tetravaccine or Bifidobacterium tetragenous, a quadruple probiotic tablet containing Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Bacillus cereus). This probiotic-augmented dual therapy is designed to eradicate H. pylori while mitigating gut microbiota dysbiosis and improving metabolic syndrome-related parameters such as blood glucose and lipid profiles.
