Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vonsetamig is a humanized bispecific antibody that targets both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA; also known as tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 17 or TNFRSF17) and the T-cell surface antigen CD3. By binding to BCMA on malignant plasma cells and CD3 on cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), vonsetamig redirects CTLs to kill BCMA-expressing tumor cells. This mechanism is designed for antineoplastic activity, particularly in diseases where malignant plasma cells are involved. Vonsetamig is being developed by Regeneron for use in multiple myeloma and for desensitization in highly sensitized patients awaiting kidney transplantation due to chronic kidney disease[1][2][5][7].
