Vosilasarm is an orally bioavailable, non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) developed initially by Radius Health and later by Ellipses Pharma. It acts as a tissue-selective mixed agonist or partial agonist of the androgen receptor (AR), showing potent anabolic activity in muscle and bone while acting as an antagonist in the prostate and breast tissues. This selectivity allows it to promote muscle growth and bone formation with reduced risk of typical androgenic side effects such as prostate enlargement. Vosilasarm was originally investigated for conditions like cancer cachexia, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia but development for these indications was discontinued. It is currently being studied for HER2-negative breast cancer, particularly in late-stage or metastatic disease[1][2][5][7].
