Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Voveran TPM Gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulation containing 1% w/w diclofenac (as diclofenac diethylamine). It is formulated using the proprietary Targeted Penetration Matrix (TPM) drug delivery system developed by Avecho Biotechnology (formerly Phosphagenics). The TPM technology, which is based on a mixture of phosphorylated vitamin E, self-assembles into nanostructures that enhance the dermal absorption and localized penetration of diclofenac through the skin. Voveran TPM Gel is indicated for the localized treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, soft tissue rheumatism, and musculoskeletal injuries such as sprains, strains, and bruises. It was developed through a partnership between Avecho Biotechnology, Themis Medicare (which manufactures the finished dosage form), and Novartis India, which holds the exclusive marketing rights in India.
