Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vovilup is a fixed-dose combination topical analgesic spray developed by GSK. It is formulated with four active ingredients: diclofenac (1.16%), menthol (5%), methyl salicylate (10%), and linseed oil (3%). The product is designed for the localized relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as sprains, strains, and arthritis. Diclofenac acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, while menthol and methyl salicylate function as counter-irritants to provide sensory-mediated pain relief. Linseed oil serves as an anti-inflammatory agent and a penetration enhancer for the other components.
