Overview
VP-008 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the Transforming Growth Factor Beta Receptor 1 (TGFBR1), currently under development by Varsity Pharmaceuticals. It is being investigated for the treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). The drug works by blocking the TGF-beta signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in the microenvironment of CLL cells, potentially overcoming immune suppression and inhibiting tumor cell survival. As a targeted therapy, VP-008 aims to provide a more specific approach to managing hematological malignancies by modulating key growth and survival signals within the tumor niche.
