Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VP101 is a humanized bispecific antibody developed by Huabo Biopharm (a subsidiary of Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical) that simultaneously targets Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A). By dual-targeting these pathways, VP101 is designed to relieve the immunosuppression mediated by the PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint while concurrently inhibiting tumor-induced angiogenesis. This synergistic mechanism aims to enhance the infiltration of immune cells into the tumor microenvironment and improve anti-tumor efficacy compared to monotherapies. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors.
