Overview

VR506 is an inhaled corticosteroid small molecule drug developed for the treatment of asthma. It was designed as a monotherapy for persistent and severe asthma, delivered via Vectura’s proprietary dry powder inhaler technology. The mechanism of action is as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, targeting the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) to reduce inflammation in the airways. Clinical trials reached up to Phase 3 before development was discontinued. The drug was originally developed by Vectura Group and intended for licensing and commercialization in partnership with an undisclosed US company[1][4][5].
