Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**VR647** is Vectura's investigational inhaled budesonide drug-device combination product. It comprises a budesonide inhalation suspension administered using the proprietary VR647 Inhalation System, a controlled nebulizer system designed for drug delivery by inhalation. Budesonide is a synthetic glucocorticoid that activates the glucocorticoid receptor, regulating inflammatory gene expression and reducing airway inflammation. VR647 was evaluated in Phase 1 pharmacokinetic and tolerability studies in pediatric patients with wheezing, reactive airway disease, or mild asthma, and in adult healthy volunteers and patients with asthma.
