VRC-EBOADC069-00-vp

VRC-EBOADC069-00-vp is a bivalent recombinant viral vector vaccine designed to prevent infection by the Zaire and Sudan species of the Ebola virus. It consists of two recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus type 3 (cAd3) vectors in a 1:1 ratio that express wild-type glycoproteins from both Zaire and Sudan ebolaviruses. The primary mechanism is immunostimulation through induction of an immune response against these viral glycoproteins. The product was developed collaboratively by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Sabin Vaccine Institute, University of Maryland Baltimore and originated with ReiThera (formerly Okairos). Clinical development has reached Phase II for prevention of Ebola virus infections[1][2][4][6].
