Overview

VRC-FLUDNA082-00-VP is an investigational DNA plasmid vaccine developed by the Vaccine Research Center (VRC) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). It is designed to elicit an immune response against the H2N2 subtype of the Influenza A virus. The vaccine contains a DNA plasmid encoding the hemagglutinin (HA) protein from the A/Singapore/1/1957 (H2N2) strain. In clinical development, it has been evaluated in prime-boost regimens, often serving as the priming agent followed by a boost with a ferritin-based nanoparticle vaccine (such as VRC-FLUNPF081-00-VP) to induce broader and more potent neutralizing antibody responses against H2 influenza viruses.
