VRDN-006

VRDN-006 is a highly selective Fc fragment designed to inhibit the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn). By blocking the interaction between FcRn and immunoglobulin G (IgG), VRDN-006 aims to reduce pathogenic IgG levels, which is relevant for treating autoimmune diseases. The drug is engineered for convenient subcutaneous self-administration and has demonstrated specificity in non-human primates for inhibiting FcRn-IgG interactions while sparing albumin and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). As of early 2025, VRDN-006 is in phase 1 clinical development with proof-of-concept data expected later in the year.
